Gone are the days of men cheating and women suffering. And it appears that there is an increasing trend of women playing a bigger role in the unfaithful category, i.e. 3 to 5 are women out of 10 unfaithful spouses. In interesting times like this, women are more resilient as generations of ‘women suffering’ have wised up and passed down the tricks of the trade to overcome such breakups or divorces. Even among the Ya-Ya sisterhood, women share how they overcome their grief through their friends.
Unfortunately, the situation is more grim when it comes to men. We retract back into our caves and isolation, i.e. computer games or some hobbies. The lack of social interaction and wisdom from fore-fathers doesn’t help, i.e. grand-dad was probably playing the field and it was grand-mum who was taking the beating in the heart.
The result? More men are going for counselling, which is a burning a big fat hole in the pockets while women stroll their way through by committing the deed and walking away liberalized. And if women do get hurt, they get by with grandma and their Ya-Ya sisterhood, while men get stranded.
Interesting times indeed. Having said that, for all the heartbroken maidens and fellows, it’s Christmas so get into all the gatherings and trust that there will be a better guy, better girl out there that will get your heart jumping again. On the bright side, at least you are not the one walking away guilt-stricken for ruining a relationship.
Cheers,
